[edit] Mass Attendance

We strongly believe that our beautiful Mass is an opportunity to receive Jesus in the Eucharist, hear His words and give us strength for daily life. This is a necessary part of our Catholic formation, both as children and adults. As well as in keeping the third commandment—"The Christian Sunday (the Lord’s Day) celebrates the new life of the world born in Christ’s Resurrection. All humans have a duty, to praise God and give him thanks. Thus all Christians are bound to participate in the Mass, and must partake of the Eucharist at least on holy days of obligation. Deliberate failure to do this constitutes a grave sin (CCC 2181)." In addition to this teaching from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, children are at a distinct disadvantage in understanding our Catholic faith and traditions if they are only attending classes and missing Mass each week. So to encourage all students and families to attend Mass together, we will be continuing our program this year, "SUNDAE MASS". Families participating will be invited to attend a SUNDAE party at the end of the year. Watch for the Sundae Mass sheet coming home with the September newsletter. Enjoy attending Mass together as a family throughout the year and then have fun eating and celebrating with other Religious Education families!

In addition, continuing this year, we will be asking our A session students to attend the 9 a.m. Mass and our B session students to attend the 10:30 a.m. Mass and our D session students to attend either the 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Mass according to the following schedule.
